Lamborghini's Hybrid Technology in the Asterion Explained

If you were curious about the new Asterion plug-in hybrid concept from the Lamborghini stable, well, the company has released a video to relieve you of your curiosity and assumptions. The video shows exactly how the system works.
The Asterion is Lamborghini's first ever plug-in hybrid vehicle which shows not much of a design but technology. The company has taken the video game-like route to explain how the hybrid system works. The setup comprises of the 5.2-litre V10 which churns out 610bhp and with the addition of the three electric motors, which deliver 300bhp, the tally is taken to 910bhp.
When in hybrid mode, the Asterion starts in electric mode only and works as a front-wheel drive car and after it hits 50 km/h the combustion engine will kick in and enable the Asterion run in four-wheel drive hybrid mode.
The Zero button which is mounted on the steering wheel shuts down the V10 engine which then makes the Asterion rely only in electric mode. In all-electric mode, the Asterion can travel for up to 50 km during which it can hit 125 km/h. In hybrid mode it can go from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds and tops out at 320 km/h.
