LiveWire S2 Del Mar LE Electric Bike To Be Unveiled This Month

- LiveWire S2 Del Mar LE will be unveiled on May 10, 2022
- LiveWire is Harley-Davidson's electric vehicle (EV) vertical
- S2 Del Mar LE will be one of three new EVs built on Arrow EV architecture
Harley-Davidson's electric motorcycle brand LiveWire has announced that it will reveal its next electric motorcycle on May 10, 2022. Called the LiveWire S2 Del Mar LE, the new model will be powered by an all-new modular Arrow EV architecture and will be positioned below the LiveWire One as a middleweight electric motorcycle. The S2 Del Mar will be built on LiveWire's Arrow platform, which includes a battery pack, electronics and motor in a single unit that the company can then use to build various different models on.

The LiveWire Arrow platform will have a modular architecture and will form the base for different EVs with varying performance, and range.

The Del Mar is expected to use the S2 version of the platform, designed for middleweight motorcycles. More iterations and models will follow the S2, with the lightweight S3 models and heavyweight S4 models, all based around the same Arrow EV architecture. The S2 Del Mar is expected to be something similar to an illustration Harley-Davidson released back in 2019 of a future middleweight model. That design seems to have taken inspiration from flat-track racers.

The S2 Del Mar LE is expected to have performance similar to that of a conventional petrol-powered 700 cc motorcycle. The last two alphabets in the name, LE, are expected to signify a limited edition model, with a run of just 100 motorcycles. More details on specifications, range, performance and features are expected to be announced on May 10, 2022.
Last year, Harley-Davidson had announced that the LiveWire will be merging with the special acquisition company (SPAC) AEA-Bridges Impact Corporation, as well as Taiwan-based scooter manufacturer Kymco. The merger is expected to be finalised sometime this year.
