- Magenta has installed a street lamp integrated charging station at Parel
- Magenta plans to install more chargers at Dadar & Byculla stations next
- The ChargeGrid Flare will offer both AC & DC charging support
Electric charge point operator Magenta Power has announced its collaboration with Central Railways to inaugurate public charging stations at select railway stations in Mumbai. The first set of charging points was setup at the Parel Railway station and was inaugurated by Subhash Desai, Minister of Industry and Mining. The company plans to setup more EV charging points over the next two weeks at the Dadar and Byculla railway stations in the city. Magenta Power is working with other government agencies as well to expand the presence of charging stations across India
Speaking about the collaboration, Maxson Lewis, MD & Co-founder - Magenta Group said, "Installing EV chargers at Mumbai Railway Stations is a dream come true for me at a personal level. The adoption of electric Vehicles cannot be said to have taken off, if the common man's concern of EV charging is not addressed; and what better than making EV charging available at the most synonymous locations for Mumbai's common man - railway stations."
Subhash Desai, Minister of Industry and Mining said, "We are glad to see Magenta with Central Railways pushing 'green initiatives' and setting up EV charging stations addressing the lack of the charging infrastructure for EVs to operate smoothly. This initiative will bring relief to people who can charge their EVs at key locations near Railway stations as well."

More than 1,200 chargers will be setup at HPCL fuel stations and 82 at FERN hotels.
