Maruti Suzuki Records Highest Exports Ever In A Fiscal

- Exports grew over 147 percent year on year in FY 2021-22
- Maruti exported 2,38,376 units in the fiscal year 2021-22
- 26,495 units exported in March 2022 Maruti's best monthly figure yet
Maruti Suzuki recorded its best ever fiscal year for exports with a record 2,38,376 vehicles exported in the fiscal year (FY) 2021-22. Exports in the last financial year grew a notable 147.95 percent over FY 2020-21 where the carmaker had only reported export numbers of 96,139 – its lowest in the last five fiscal years. The announcement follows a similar one made earlier in the year with the carmaker revealing that it had exported a record 2 lakh vehicles in the 2021 calendar year.
Commenting on the milestone Maruti Suzuki's new MD & CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, said, “Today is an auspicious day for me as I take up the responsibility of MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki, that coincides with the achievement of this historic highest ever exports. This export milestone demonstrates the dedication and hardwork of team Maruti Suzuki led by Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, from whom I have taken up this role. These export numbers are a reflection of India's manufacturing potential and the acceptance of India-manufactured vehicles, all over the world.”

Maruti Suzuki crossed the 20 lakh ( 2 million) unit export milestone in February 2021
Maruti also revealed that March 2022 was its best month yet for exports with 26,495 units shipped to markets across the globe – eclipsing its previous high of 24,021 units recorded in February 2022. In comparison the carmaker had recorded exports of 11,597 units in March 2021. The carmaker's top export models in the fiscal included the Baleno, Dzire Swift, Vitara Brezza and the S-Presso.
Maruti Suzuki currently exports models to over 100 countries across Latin America, Africa, Middle East, and the ASEAN region. The company has now exported over 22 lakh units since it first started exporting cars in 1986 with the 20-lakh milestone having been achieved in February last year.
