Mercedes-AMG A 35, CLA 35 Edition 55 Revealed

- Edition 55 package adds Night Package and Aero package as standard.
- Available on A 35 hatch, A35 sedan, CLA 35 and CLA 35 Shooting Brake
- Interior finished in dual tone black and red with Edition 55 badging
Mercedes-AMG has introduced Edition 55 packages on more of its cars as the company celebrates its 55th anniversary. The latest models to get the package are the A 35 and CLA 35 both in two body styles. The Edition 55 package on the A 35 is available on the hatchback and sedan while on the CLA it can be had with either the standard four-door coupe or the Shooting Brake. As on the G-class, the Edition 55 package is purely cosmetic with the A 35 and CLA 35 mechanically unchanged.
The A 35 and CLA 35 both get the optional AMG Night Package and Night Package II as standard starting from the exterior. The packages include a darkened finish to elements such as the grille, wheels, mirror covers, exhaust finishers and badging. Additional sporty touches come in the form of the AMG Aerodynamics package that adds on bits such as a fixed rear spoiler, front splitter, and canards on the front bumper.

Edition 55 models get AMG Night Package and Aero Dynamics Package as standard.
Rounding out the looks are 19-inch AMG alloy wheels. As with the G 63 Edition 55, the A 35 and CLA 35 are available in two exterior colours - cosmos black metallic or digital white metallic.
Moving to the interior, the cabin is finished in a dual-tone red and black with Edition 55 badging on the steering wheel, seats and floor mats. The package will be available as an add on option to A 35 and CLA 35 customers.

Cabin finished in dual-tone read and black with metallic trim inserts.
There's no change under the skin to either of the models with the familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine developing 302 bhp and 400 Nm paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The carmaker for now isn't offering the Edition 55 package with the hotter AMG 45 models.
