MINI Electric Spotted Testing On Snowy Terrain

- MINI Electric was spotted undergoing cold weather testing
- The Electric MINI will borrow a lot of cues from the existing MINI cars
- BMW is planning to make the MINI Electric in China instead of the UK
A partially camouflaged test mule of the much anticipated MINI Electric was recently spotted undergoing cold weather testing. The prototype model has lost a lot of camouflage from the last time we came across a spy image of the car and now we get to see a bit more of the car's actual skin. The 3-door all-electric car comes with the signature MINI design and silhouette, and if the lack of a conventional radiator grille wasn't enough to reveal the car's identity, the prototype also comes with an 'Electric Test Vehicle' sticker on the sides and rear bumper.

MINI Electric will come with all the signature desing and styling elements of a MINI model
Visually, the MINI Electric prototype comes with all the design and styling traits associated with a MINI car. For instance, the car comes with the popular floating roof design, thanks to the blacked-out pillars, along with other signature design elements like - the bug-eyed headlamps and egg-shaped outside rear view mirror (ORVM), the vertically-stacked LED taillamps and wide tyres. Styling wise will believe the production model will borrow a lot of cues from the Electric MINI concept as well along with the existing 3-Door hardtop models.
Powertrain and other technical specifications of the car are still unknown and we'll only get to know more about it later this year when the company officially unveils the new MINI Electric. While initially it was believed that the production of the electric MINI will take place in Oxford, UK, the BMW-owned British carmaker announced last month that it plans to build the electric version of its compact MINI car in China, and is looking at a possible joint venture with local partner Great Wall.
