2022 MINI Electric India Launch Highlights: Price, Features, Specifications, Images

MINI India is set to launch its first all-electric vehicle, the MINI Electric in India today, and we have all the highlights here. Also called the MINI Cooper SE in some markets, this is the second electric vehicle from BMW Group India after the BMW iX, which was launched in India last year. MINI opened pre-bookings for its electric vehicle in October 2021, for a token of Rs. 1 lakh. Within days the entire first batch of 30 cars was sold out. The electric hatchback will arrive in India as a completely built unit (CBU) and is priced at Rs. 47.20 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The MINI Electric comes with an electric motor that develops 181 bhp and 270 Nm of peak torque. Power comes from the 32.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which offers a range of 270 km on a single charge. The electric hatchback can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 7.3 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 150 kmph. Compared to the petrol model, the electric version is about 145 kg heavier.

Visually, the 3-Door MINI Electric comes with a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, while retaining elements like the round headlamps, Union Jack themed LED taillights, round ORVMs, and that familiar profile. The MINI Electric also differentiates itself with the blank front grille panel and a new 'E' badge. The electric 3-Door will be available in four colours - White Silver, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey and British Racing Green, with contrast yellow highlights on wheels and yellow ORVMs.
