BMW Group India Reports Best Ever Car Sales in H1 2025; 7,774 Units Delivered

- X1 accounts for 30 per cent of sales
- 5 Series LWB the brand's best selling sedan
- X7 sales cross 5,000 unit mark since launch in 2019
BMW Group India reported its best-ever sales in the first half of a calendar year with 7,774 units delivered in H1 2025. This included 7,477 units under the BMW brand and 297 units under MINI. BMW’s two-wheeler arm, BMW Motorrad India, meanwhile, reported sales of 2,569 units.

The X1 was the brand's best selling SUV and best selling model overall acounting for 30 per cent of sales.
Focusing back on cars, BMW Group India said that cumulative car sales were up 10 per cent year-on-year. The biggest gains were posted in the EV segments with BMW Group India reporting a 234 per cent growth with 1,322 BMW and MINI EVs delivered. The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase continued its strong sales momentum in the second quarter of 2025, retaining its position as the brand's bestselling EV in the market in H1 2025. It was followed by BMW’s electric flagship, the i7 luxury limousine. Overall, EVs comprised of 18 per cent of BMW Group India’s overall car sales.

On the SUV front, the BMW X1 was the group’s best-selling model with a 30 per cent share of the total sales. SUV sales overall grew by 13 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2025.
The 5 Series long-wheelbase was BMW's best selling sedan in 2025 so far.
Another interesting metric of BMW’s sales was the rising demand for its long-wheelbase (LWB) models which accounted for 47 per cent of the brand’s sales. Sales of LWB models – comprising the BMW 7 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW iX1, were up 159 per cent year-on-year. The 5 Series was the brand’s best-selling sedan in the market, accounting for about 20 per cent of total sales.

On the flagship luxury end of the market, the BMW X7 reached a small milestone with total sales in the country crossing the 5,000-unit mark since the SUV was launched in India in 2019.

Moving to MINI, the BMW sister brand reported sales of 297 units with the Cooper S being the best seller. BMW Group India said that sales for the Cooper S grew 60 per cent year-on-year with the sales split between the Cooper S hatchback and the Countryman E being almost equal.
