Ministry of External Affairs to Lease 55 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedans

Starting with the upcoming India Africa Forum Summit (IAFS), these Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans will be employed by the Ministry of External Affairs in the service of visiting foreign dignitaries comprising Head of States, Presidents, Prime Ministers and top diplomats.

The largest selling luxury car model in the country, over 30,000 units of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class have been sold in India. The E 250 CDI in question comes powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine whose performance is rated at 201bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. Mated to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, the car can go from 0Km/h to 100Km/h in 7.5 seconds and offers a top-speed of 242Km/h.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class' gets ample features to ensure the comfort and safety of its passengers. The Mercedes-Benz E 250 CDI gets THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control system, Ambient lighting with 5 stage intensity control, electric sunblinds, separate air vents for rear passengers, NECK-PRO, Rear crash structure with deformation zones, and airbags among other provisions.
