New Audi A5 Sportback, A5 Convertible and S5 Sportback: In Pictures

- Audi A5 sportback and cabriolet get only 2-litre diesel engines in India
- The Audi S5 sportback gets a 3-litre turbo V6 engine making 349 bhp
- Prices for the Audi A5 family start at Rs 54.02 lakh (ex-showroom)
Audi has launched the A5 family in India and unlike the last generation where we only got the S5 sportback, this time around, we get three brand new cars - the A5 sportback, the A5 convertible and the S5 sportback. The new Audi A5 sportback fits exactly in between the A4 and the A6 in terms of rough pricing and although it does offer slightly less practicality in terms of rear leg space and head room, it does offer a far far prettier package as a whole and is perfect for the kind of buyer who wants something different and unique from his or her car.

(Audi S5)
Lets start with the Audi S5. With a three litre petrol, the S5 makes 349 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. Now while it might not tear your face off, it does have enough power and performance to get you from 0-100 kmph in under 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.

(Audi S5 Seats)
The sportiness on the Audi S5 continues on the interior too! with a set of leather and suede bucket seats (shown here in black but available in a shade of red too), the S5's interiors do make you feel slightly special. A sprinkling of red or a few carbon panels would have made it even cooler though.

(Audi S5 Exhaust)
The easiest way to differentiate the A5 from the S5 is the quad exhaust on the latter. The S5's sport exhaust is variable and gets louder in the dynamic mode as electronic valves open up in the muffler. Although it isnt as loud as it's RS spec counterparts, the exhaust does make a uniquely performance oriented note.

(Audi S5 Rear End)
The Audi S5 also gets a built in diffuser in the rear bumper and a small lip spoiler on the boot. The accents that are finished in chrome on the A5 are finished in a painted share of grey on the S5. The tail lamps on all the A5 family cars are LED units with the dynamic turn signal.

(Audi A5)
This picture perfectly describes the Audi A5, the cat amongst the pigeons! The A5 sportback is a practical daily driver 4-seater and 4 door car that has the same features as the sedans but will have a lot more sex appeal!

(Audi A5 Interior)
The A5's interior is typically Audi in terms of design and simplicity. There is a large free standing display on the dashboard and the infotainment is controlled by Audi's Multimedia interface setup. The car also gets driving modes like comfort and dynamic along with an additional individual mode.

(Audi A5 screen)
The Audi A5 family across body styles comes standard with the large LCD display screen that replaces the traditional dials. the screen can be configured to show large dials and even satellite navigation data.

(Audi A5 Convertible)
The final body style in the Audi A5 family is the A5 convertible. With a conventional soft top roof, the Audi A5 convertible will certainly be a popular choice in India since the A3 convertible has also done well in terms of sales expectations.

(Audi A5 Convertible)
The Audi A5 convertible and sportback will only be available in India with a 2-litre diesel engine that makes 187 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. While the sportback is available only in a front wheel drive layout, the convertible gets all-wheel-drive instead.
