- 6 colour options, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit on offer.
Maruti Suzuki is giving its best-selling hatchback, the Alto a complete makeover. Set to enter its third generation, the new Maruti Suzuki Alto is expected to make a debut later this month, most likely on August 18, 2022. The new Alto will be underpinned by the same modular Heartect platform which underpins other new Maruti Suzuki cars, and it is expected that the Alto will go on sale with the K10C 1.0-litre DualJet engine which powers the S-Presso and is good for 66 bhp at 5500 rpm. It is also possible that Maruti Suzuki may drop the 800 cc engine from the Alto line-up entirely, and the upcoming hatchback could subsequently be named as the Alto K10. Ahead of its debut, multiple images have leaked online revealing many details of the upcoming hatchback.

New-Gen Alto will get an all-new design closer to the Maruti Suzuki Celerio
The new Alto gets a complete makeover in terms of design, and the design is closer to that of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, especially from the rear. A type approval document revealed some technical specifications of the upcoming hatchback, and it will be 85mm longer and 45mm taller than the current model, with the width of the car remaining unchanged. The wheelbase of the car has subsequently increased by 20 mm too, which should translate to better space on the interior. However with the width being unchanged, the shoulder room may still be the same.
