July was an extremely busy month for carmakers with numerous launches and unveils. While a few new cars were launched this past month, we also saw a handful of global unveils with a launch slated for in the coming months. However, moving to the month of August, we’ve got a lot of action both in the domestic market as well as on the International scene. And so, we take you through each one of them.
Starting the first event of the month is the launch of the new Hyundai Tucson mid-size SUV. The company will announce the price of the new Tucson on August 4, and we will soon after, get behind the wheel of the car to bring a detailed first-drive review of the new Hyundai Tucson.
The new Hyundai Tucson will come with a huge makeover to its exterior and is now properly loaded with the latest tech on the inside as well as is now a Level-2 ADAS equipped SUV. The Hyundai Tucson rivals MG Hector, Jeep Compass, and Tata Harrier in this space.
Next up, will be the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, with a possible launch slated for August 14, 2022. The newest entrant in the compact SUV space will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor as well as its sibling, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be powered by two engine options- a mild-hybrid, courtesy Maruti Suzuki, and a strong hybrid powertrain coupled to an e-CVT unit.
Mahindra has huge plans for the Indian EV space as it prepares to reveal its latest onslaught of electric vehicles from its UK plant on August 15. We are expected to see as many as five new electric vehicles from the homegrown carmaker, ranging from four coupe-type SUVs and a possible full-size SUV.
Rumours suggest that the company will showcase its upcoming electric SUV, the Mahindra eXUV400 electric SUV slated for a market launch in September 2022.
The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Alto is on its way for a market launch on August 18, 2022. The new Alto will be the next offering from Maruti Suzuki after the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The new Maruti Suzuki Alto will sport a completely new exterior, and interior while power will come from a new K10C petrol engine.
Mercedes-Benz India will launch its second EV in the market on August 24, 2022. The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ will join the company’s EQ range in India which already consists of the Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV. The company will launch its first electrified AMG in the country that promises a claimed range of up to 579km from its 107.2kWh battery pack.
Upon launch, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ will rival the likes of the Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-Tron GT in India.
