The new Maruti Suzuki Alto will be built on Maruti’s modular Heartect platform, now a staple on most of the company’s products such as the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga as well as flagship Maruti Suzuki XL6. We will also see the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara built on the same platform. Coming back to the Maruti Suzuki Alto, the update will also equip the new Alto with two petrol engines- the tried & tested 796 cc engine and a new K10C 1.0-litre Dual-Jet unit, most recently seen in the Maruti Suzuki S Presso. The company could also offer its AGS or AMT unit with the new Maruti Suzuki Alto. A CNG version of the new Alto is also on the cards.
