Over 700 Triumph Street Triple Motorcycles Sold In India So Far

- The Street triple has registered a growth of 148 per cent in FY 2018
- India gets 2 trim options - Street Triple S and Street Triple RS
- Triumph Street Triple is powered by a 765 cc, inline 3-cylinder engine
The Triumph Street Triple motorcycle has recently crossed the 700 sales milestone in India. Since the bike's launch in India, Triumph Motorcycles has so far sold 701 units of Street Triple in the country and it was just last year that we saw the introduction of the new-gen model. Currently available in two variants - Street Triple S, and Street Triple RS, the bike has registered a year-on-year (YOY) growth of 148 per cent in 2018 fiscal year, compared to the FY 2017.
Commenting on this latest milestone, Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India said, "When a new bike is introduced, it is on the basis our assessment of what the market wants, but one never knows what the reaction to a new bike will be. We are extremely pleased with the response to the Street Triple so far and hope to see more and more people enjoy this amazing machine, as much as we have enjoyed developing it."

The 765 cc in-line three-cylinder engine makes 121 bhp, and 77 Nm torque on the RS trim
The current-gen Triumph Street Triple is powered by a 765 cc, inline 3-cylinder engine that comes in different states of tune depending on the variant. The base model Street Triple S, for instance, comes with a power output at 111 bhp and 73 Nm of peak torque, whereas, the top-of-the-line RS trim offers a maximum of 121 bhp and a peak torque of 77 Nm. The engine comes with more than 80 new parts, compared to the older 675 cc engine, which includes a new crank, pistons and Nikasil plated aluminium barrels and an increased bore and stroke. The same engine is under rigorous R&D with Moto2 in preparation for its 2019 track debut as the official engine for the tournament.

Triumph Street Triple RS gets 2 new colours - Matt Jet Black and Crystal White
The Street Triple also comes with a bunch of smart tech like a 5-inch full-colour TFT screen, in the RS, which offers two different themes and three different styles, with adjustable contrast. The bike also comes with switchable traction control, ABS, and ride-by-wire, and five riding models which are road, rain, sport, track, and individual. Triumph Motorcycles has also introduced 2 new colour options for the Street Triple RS - Crystal White and Matt Jet Black, in addition to the existing Matt Silver Ice shade.
