Highlights

We brought you the news about Peugeot's special 208 GTi at the beginning of this week, and this time it is a lot more than just news. Peugeot finally revealed the car that marks the 30th anniversary of the 205 GTi today, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The 208 GTi comes equipped with the Euro 6-compliant 1.6-litre, 4 cylinder, THP petrol engine that puts out 205bhp and 300Nm of torque. There is an obvious growth in the performance figures; the power has grown by 6bhp, and the torque by 25Nm.

The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Also on the menu is a Torsen limited slip differential together with retuned suspension and steering systems, and 0-100Km/h is dealt in 6.5 seconds. The very race-centric two-tone red/black livery adds to its list of qualifications for being a sports car.

Sales of the Peugeot 208 GTi 30th Anniversary special edition are programmed to begin in November.
