Porsche 911 GT3 Launched In India, Priced At Rs. 2.31 Crore

- Bookings for the Porsche 911 GT3 started early this year
- The Porsche 911 GT3 gets a PDK automatic and 6-speed manual gearbox
- With the PDK unit, the 911 GT3 goes from 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds
Further expanding the 911 line-up in India, Porsche today launched the all-new 911 GT3 sports car in the country priced at Rs. 2.31 crore (ex-showroom, India). Currently, one of the most potent 911s in the country, Porsche India started accepting bookings for the new Porsche 911 GT3 early this year, right after the car's global unveiling, which happened at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The new Porsche 911 GT3 is essentially built for some exemplary track performance and gets a bulk of changes over its predecessor. In India, the Porsche 911 GT3 will be locking horns with the likes of the recently launched Mercedes-AMG GT R, Nissan GT-R, and the Audi R8.

Porsche 911 GT3 is the most potent 911 in India right now
Powering the new Porsche 911 GT3 is a 4-litre six-cylinder boxer engine which has been tuned to churn out 493 bhp of power and develop 540 Nm of peak torque. Transmission wise, you have the option of choosing either the 7-speed PDK automatic transmission or the more exciting 6-speed manual gearbox. With a near power-to-weight ratio, the 911 GT3 can hit 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds on the automatic with a top speed of 318 kmph. The 911 GT3 manual, on other hand, takes 0.5 seconds more to do the 0-100 kmph sprint, but has a higher top speed of 320 kmph.
Talking about the new car, Pawan Shetty, Director of Porsche India, said, "Motorsport is an integral part of Porsche's DNA; it is racing heritage which gives us the edge in delivering true sports cars with exceptional everyday usability, and no more so is that apparent than with the 911 range. Porsche's iconic model has been developed on racetracks over five decades and we are immensely proud to announce the arrival of out first GT3 in India today."

Porsche 911 GT3 comes with a standard aero package, larger wheels and smoked headlamps
Visually, the GT3 has the DNA of the 911 all around, with the imposing stance, sharp sloping roof and other signature design elements. The Porsche 911 GT3 comes with a standard aero package, larger wheels and smoked headlamps with the distinctive four-point LED DRLs. The biggest addition though is the massive rear wing that provides tonnes of downforce, which is needed for a car of this stature. The chassis has been revised with rear-axle steering and the lightweight construction aids in improved driving dynamics.
The cabin, on the other hand, also comes with a familiar layout, similar to the standard 911, but with a host of customisation options including leather and Alcantara, apart from carbon fibre and aluminium inserts as optional. Customers also have the option to choose from three seat options - electrically adjustable adaptive sport seats, bucket seats with foldable backrest and bucket seats made out of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CRPF). For comfort and entertainment, the 911 GT3 comes with auto climate control, Bose surround sound system and a touchscreen infotainment unit. Apple CarPlay is standard on the coupe.
