Renault Kwid Deliveries to Get Delayed

Apart from extensive demands, Renault India is already facing a major problem in regards to production of vehicles. Recently the carmaker suspended its production operations in its Chennai plant due to heavy rains and flood. This only indicates that customer who have booked or are planning to book a Kwid anytime around this period will have wait months before getting their hands on their car.
Word around the market is that Renault India plans to ramp up its production capacity to meet the extensive demand once the calamity is over. If that happens Renault will be manufacturing about 15000 to 20000 units per month. With that being said, judging by the current reports about the rains in and around Chennai, we hardly believe that will happen anytime soon.

Talking about the car itself, the Renault Kwid is undoubtedly one of the best looking cars in its segment. The SUV like stance, the muscular character lines and the list of smart features that Renault has to offer makes the Kwid a true value for money package, especially with its low price tag starting at Rs. 2.56 lakh, going up to Rs. 3.53 lakh(ex-showroom Delhi).
Under the hood, the all-new Renault Kwid is powered by a 799 cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing a maximum of 53.2bhp and a peak torque of 72Nm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and returns a striking mileage of 25.17Km/l, making it the most fuel efficient petrol car in the country
