Sachin Tendulkar Rocks An Electric Go-Kart On Instagram

- Sachin Tendulkar vrooms in an electric go-kart in latest instagram post
- The electric go kart driven by Sachin has a top speed of over 70 kmph!
- Sachin is a huge petrolhead with the likes of the BMW i8 in his garage
A fan of speed in all shapes, forms and sizes, Sachin Tendulkar is known to be an avid driver both on the street and on the track. Having owned and driven several race derived supercars, including a custom BMW i8, on various race tracks around the world, Sachin's latest post has something along similar lines but with a very eco-friendly twist - while still promising to be loads of fun! Seen behind the wheel of a Go-Kart wearing the iconic number 10, the 'master blaster' seems to be excited about driving the electric go kart on a race track, probably one of the many Sky Karting tracks in the country. These electric cars might be new technology and might be looked down upon by the purists who prefer their blend of burning hot exhausts, loud engines and two stroke fragrances, but rest assured, these are quick enough to make anyone - including Sachin have a good time!

Sodi RTX Electric Go-Kart
The Go Kart in question is a Sodi Kart RTX which is the staple electric kart used by several indoor go kart tracks around the world. Entertainment chain Smaaash, that runs the largest chain of go kart tracks in India (Sky Karting) moved from traditional petrol powered go karts to these state of the art and modern electric go karts a few years ago.
The karts have an electric motor powering the rear wheels and two low set batteries that make sure weight distribution is identical from side to side. The motor on these carts can reach up to 10,000 rpm providing instant torque to the driver and reaching top speeds of over 70 kmph!! The karts also come with features like built in lap timers and LED headlamps!
undefinedVroooom vroooom!! Something exciting coming up real soon! #10

It is also prudent to note that while the global automotive industry has decided to move to electric cars en-masse, the world of motorsport from grass root levels like go karting, all the way to the top is also moving towards electrification in some form or another. From the KERS systems in F1 to hybrid engines at the WEC or LeMans to the quickly growing Formula E race series, electric motorsport is here to stay and will compliment electric mobility for the masses!
