You do not have to be physically strong to change a car's tyre. In fact, all the things required to change a tyre are already provided in your car's tool kit. If you see that something is missing, you can always go to your nearest car shop and purchase it. You will also save a lot of time and money if you know how to change your car's tyre. Worry not, it is not as difficult as some people make it to be. Let's dive in and learn how to change a car's tyre.

Requirements
Owner's manual: Your owner's manual comes filled with important information about changing your car's tyre. You can find details like what type of wrench you have to use that would fit into the bolts and nuts of your car, etc.
Lug wrench: It is used to tighten and loosen the lug nuts found on the wheel and can be of different types such as X-shaped, double-sided, L-shaped, nut socket, etc.
Spare tyre: You would require a spare tyre to replace the flat one. Usually, a car already has one.

A jack: You require a jack to lift your car so that you can easily replace the flat tyre. It is already there in a car's tool kit.
How to change a car's tyre
Step 1: Find a safe space
Find a place where you can easily change your car's tyre on the road. It would help if you parked in a spot where there is ample distance between the road and you so that the incoming traffic does not cause any problem.
Step 2: Turn on the parking lights
Alert the other vehicles when you turn on your parking or hazard lights. You will be able to change your car's tyre safely, as the incoming vehicles will notice your parking lights.
Step 3: Engage the hand brake
You should ensure that you engage the hand brake properly to lock your car in a still position while changing the tyre, especially when you are unscrewing the damaged tyre(s) and / or screwing on the new tyre(s). The car needs to be stationary when you are changing the tyre.
Step 4: Remove the wheel covers
You need to remove the wheel cover before you start changing the tyre. Different cars have different wheel covers, and you should refer to your owner's manual to understand how it's done for your car.
Step 5: Loosen the lug nuts
Loosen the lug nuts using a lug wrench before moving on to the next step. Your tyres have nuts and bolts that keep them in place, and the lug wrench will help you remove these so that you can replace the flat tyre.

Step 6: Replace the tyre
Now, replace the flat tyre with the spare one. Remove the flat tyre from its frame and put the spare tyre in its place.
Step 7: Screw the lug nuts back
Tighten the lug nuts to fix the tyre in its place firmly. Keep the tools back where you took them from. And voila! You are done. You have successfully changed your car's flat tyre. Congratulations and well done!
