Suzuki Ignis Compact Crossover Revealed

The compact crossover has been described by the company as a 'car that can straddle the boundary between daily life and leisure' The car hasn't moved far away from the iM4 concept and that's why we think what you see here is close to the production version of the car.

It features the same design theme, 'Shape the Inspiration' but there are notable changes made to the headlamps which see the integration of DRLs. The shape of the side mirrors shape and rear bumper design has also been tweaked a bit.
Suzuki says that 'a high eye point and plenty of road clearance ensure day-to-day convenience.' which tells us that it has a decent ground clearance and could be equipped with a 4x4 system, which of course will be optional.

The inside looks futuristic and is dominated by a central tablet-style display for the infotainment system, while it also features a two-tone dashboard and an automatic gearbox. Under the hood, Suzuki might look at bringing in the 1.0-litre turbocharged BoosterJet engine and a 1.2-litre petrol unit which will use the SHVS mild hybrid system.
For India, Suzuki already has plans to bring in a compact SUV and that they have code named YBA. But this one will be slotted below that. Mahindra is already looking to enter that segment with the S101 and have made its intentions clear that there will be a 4x4 on offer. Well, the Suzuki Ignis will be a great competitor and all we can say is, ,let the price wars begin!
