That said deliveries will begin from the second week of January.

A successor and an effective replacement to the Aria, the Tata Hexa is new, refreshing and fits well in the Rs. 12-18 lakh segment, which currently has two contenders - the Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV500. While the Aria may have had its shortfalls, the new Hexa, which we drove recently, promises to be a lot more and then some. The design has witnessed a major overhaul with a more muscular appearance gracing the front. the pronounced wheel arches and bonnet are complemented by the honeycomb mesh grille and upright stance, the massive headlamps add to the appeal and come equipped with projector headlamps and LED DRLs. The side profile gives a clear view of the SUV-MPV crossover, with the massive ground clearance and wheelbase evident. The Tata Hexa rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that add to the appeal of the crossover, coupled with the black cladding running across the lower sections. At the rear, you get new wraparound LED tail lmaps, a rear diffuser and chrome tipped dual exhausts.

Inside, the new Tata Hexa has improved by miles in fit and finish, with the cabin feeling premium with well appointed materials. The all-black layout feels sporty, while the three-spoke steering wheel is reminiscent of the Zest and Tiago. What you do notice though are the abundance of features including dedicated AC vents with automatic climate control, 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, 10 JBL speakers and much more. Tata is offering the crossover in six or seven seater options.

The flagship Tata offering also has a tonne of safety features to offer and comes equipped with six airbags, ABS and EBD along with 6 airbags. The Hexa also offers traction control, ESP, Hill-Descent/Ascent control too. Some of the other features include cruise control, auto-headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, ambient lighting, MID unit and a lot more.
(Tata Hexa - Super Drive Modes)Power comes from the 2.2-litre Varicor400 diesel engine shared with the Safari Storme and is tuned to produce 156bhp and 400Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and an all-new 6-speed automatic gearbox along with different driving modes. There is now a rotary selector on the dashboard which allows you to toggle between 4 driving modes - Comfort, Dynamic, Auto and Rough road, which will be available only in the manual transmission variant. The feature is a first for any Tata.
The complete pricing for the Tata Hexa is only expected at the time of launch next year. However, if the automaker manages to price it right, the Hexa just might make more sense for the crossover buyer. Make sure to keep watching this space for complete details.
