Tobias Moers Steps Down As Aston Martin CEO

- Tobias Moers joined Aston Martin in 2020.
- Amedeo Felisa is appointed the new CEO.
- Roberto Fedeli joins as the new Chief Technical Officer.
Aston Martin has shuffled things at its high command, and announced the departure of CEO Tobias Moers, to be replaced by the former Ferrari duo of Amedeo Felisa, who comes in as the new CEO, and Roberto Fedeli as its Chief Technical Officer. Both Felisa and Fedeli will join the Gaydon-based manufacturer from June 1, 2022. The axing of Moers doesn't come as a surprise, since speculations about his imminent departure from the British firm started earlier this year, ever since the former AMG boss made some tough decisions to get the company back on track.

Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin Lagonda, Executive Chairman said, "Firstly, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation for all that Tobias has achieved. He joined Aston Martin at a critical time for the Company and brought significant discipline to its operations. The benefit of these actions is clear in the improved operating performance of the Company and in our great new product launches.

Felisa has previously served as a non-Executive Director of Aston Martin Lagonda.
Appointed as the CEO only in 2020, Moers quickly took a few heavy-hearted decisions to restructure the revenue of the company and return it to its former glory days. These included pulling the plug on one of two production lines at the Gaydon manufacturing facility in a move to improve efficiency and the second was to make the St Athan plant primarily for painting all cars. The last nail in the coffin was the dismal outcome for its Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, which till date, has been delivered to only 14 customers.

Stroll added, “I am extremely pleased that Amedeo has agreed to take on the role of CEO. He has extensive knowledge of both Aston Martin's business and the wider automotive industry with an excellent track record and previous experience in leading a major ultra-luxury car manufacturer. His technical acumen and charisma will be inspirational for the entire Company.”

Roberto Fedeli is appointed as the new Chief Technical Officer.
Another factor contributing to Moers' ouster, was key personnel's leaving under this tenure, including David King, Chief Special Operations Officer, Matt Becker, Executive For Vehicle Attributes, Simon Lane, Director Of Q Operations, and Miles Nurnburger, Head Of Exterior Designer, all quitting in quick succession.
Felisa has previously served as a non-Executive Director of Aston Martin Lagonda and is also appointed an Executive Director of Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc. He spent his entire career in automotive and engineering with over 26 years in leadership roles at Ferrari, including eight as CEO, guiding the Italian-based global luxury automotive OEM through its turnaround and growth phase as the engineering and product-development force behind every new model.
undefinedTo further strengthen our leadership team, we are also pleased to announce that the highly experienced engineer, Roberto Fedeli is appointed as Chief Technical Officer.
