TVS Motor Company Reports Highest Ever Revenue In Q3 FY 2022

- TVS reports its highest-ever revenue in the third quarter of FY 2021-22.
- Its operating EBITDA margin rose to 10 per cent during the quarter.
- TVS also registered its highest ever Profit before tax (PBT).
After reporting its highest-ever revenue in the second quarter of the financial year 2021-22, TVS Motor Company registered yet another highest-ever operating revenue of Rs. 5,706 crore in the third quarter of 2021-22 as against Rs. 5,391 crore in the third quarter ended December 2020. The company also revealed that its operating EBITDA margin rose to 10 per cent during the quarter against 9.5 per cent, as it registered Rs. 568 crore as against Rs. 511 crore during the same quarter in 2020. Moreover, the company also registered its highest ever Profit before tax (PBT) of Rs. 391 crore during the quarter as against Rs. 362 crore reported in the quarter engine in December 2020. The Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter ended December 2021 grew by 9 per cent at Rs. 288 crore as against Rs. 266 crore reported in the quarter ended December 2020.

The company said in a statement that it registered total of two-wheeler sales of 8.35 lakh units in the current quarter as against 9.52 lakh units in the quarter ended December 2020. The two-wheeler export sales grew by 12 per cent compared to Q3 of the last financial year, while the motorcycles business registered sales of 4.46 lakh units as against sales of 4.26 lakh units. The scooters segment registered sales of 2.56 lakh units as against 3.11 lakh units in the quarter ended December 2020, whereas, the total three-wheelers segment grew by 17 per cent, registering sales of 44,000 units in the quarter ended December 2021 as against sales of 38,000 units in the quarter ended December 2020.

TVS Motor also revealed that its total two-wheeler sales including exports stand at 23.23 lakh units during the nine months ending on December 2021 as against 20.42 lakh units in the nine months in the same period last year. Here, the total three-wheeler sales grew by 57 per cent to 1.30 lakh units in the nine months ended December 2021 from 83,000 units in the nine months ended December 2020, while total export grew by 68 per cent registering sales of 9.38 lakh units from 5.57 lakh units in the nine months ended December 2020.

As far as the operating revenue goes, the company announced that the nine months ended December 2021 is Rs. 15,260 crore as against Rs. 11,429 crore reported for the nine months ended December 2020. The PBT before exceptional items for the nine months ended December 2021 is Rs. 871 crore as against Rs. 439 crore during nine months ended December 2020. During the period, TVS Motor spent Rs. 30 crore towards COVID-19 related expenses, while the PAT for the nine months ended December 2021 is Rs. 619 crore as against Rs. 323 crore reported for the nine months ended December 2020.
