Unveiled: The Lamborghini Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo

Showcased at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the next-generation Lamborghini Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo will be the new addition to the company's one-make 2015 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series in Europe, Asia and North America. The new race car is inspired from the Huracan LP 610-4, and has the same 5.2-litre direct-injected V10 engine. However, it is tuned for more power. It generates a maximum power output of 620 horsepower. What enhances its racing competency is the all-wheel-drive configuration for a rear-wheel-drive setup. The set-up helps the car weigh 150kg lighter than the regular model.
The Huracan Super Trofeo marks a new benchmark for the race series. ''The Huracan Super Trofeo is an all-new car built from scratch with a clear racing concept,'' said Maurizio Reggiani, Board Member and Director of Research and Development for Automobili Lamborghini. ''We believe the car will be as fun for fans to watch as it will be rewarding for our racers to drive.''
The Huracan Super Trofeo was redesigned by a team consisting of Lamborghini's Dallara Engineering and Squadra Corsa motorsports divisions. The aerodynamics of the car provide better traction, efficiency and downforce. Wearing the front and rear diffusers, adjustable front air-intakes and a ten-position adjustable rear wing, the Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo looks quite aggressive. It exclusively equipped with Pirelli tires, which are especially designed to improve its performance.
