Updated Ford EcoSport Spotted Testing With New DRLs and Alloy Wheels

- This will be the second mid-life facelift for the EcoSport in India
- The updated Ford EcoSport is likely to be launched later this year
- Mechanically, the EcoSport will remain unchanged
Spy photos of a couple of partially camouflaged Ford EcoSport test mules have surfaced online, giving us the first glimpse of the upcoming facelifted version of the SUV. The revised EcoSport, which we expect will arrive later this year, is seen with a few updates including a new front bumper, new LED daytime running lamps, and a set of new twin-5-spoke alloy wheels. Having said that, this doesn't appear to be a full-fledged facelift but rather a minor refresh in order to keep the SUV relevant until the next-gen model arrives.

While the SUV gets a new set of new dual-five-spoke alloy wheels, the rear section look unchanged
While we don't have a clear view of the front section, we do get to see what looks like a new grille, along with a new muscular front bumper, featuring new L-shaped LED daytime running lamps and new foglamps. A different image also offers us a look at the subcompact SUV's new alloy wheels, which are a set of new dual-five-spoke wheels. The rest of the car looks unchanged, and the cabin too is expected to remain similar to the existing model.

Under the hood, the 2021 Ford EcoSport will continue to feature the same petrol and diesel engine options - the 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine from the Dragon family, and the tried and tested 1.5-litre TDCi oil burner. The former makes 120 bhp and 149 Nm of torque while paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, and the diesel engine offers 99 bhp and 215 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
