Volkswagen Hikes Prices On Taigun, Polo & Vento By Up To Rs. 5,000

- The Volkswagen Taigun gets a price hike on all variants
- The Volkswagen Polo and Vento get prices hikes on select variants
- The Skoda Kushaq gets a hike on only on the base Active 1.0 MT variant
Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has hiked prices across its India-made cars including the Polo, Vento, and the recently launched Taigun compact SUV. All models have seen a price hike of up to Rs. 5,000 across the range and the new prices came into effect from November 15, 2021, the company said in a statement. Volkswagen India also said that the price increase was a result of the rising input costs. Interestingly, it's not just VW models but Skoda has silently hiked prices on the new Kushaq as well. However, only the base variant on the Kushaq has seen a price increase. VW India previously hiked prices on the Polo and Vento as early as September this year.

The Vento line-up is priced from the same Rs. 10 lakh onwards for the Comfortline variant, while the top-spec Highline Plus AT gets a Rs. 5,000 hike and is now priced at Rs. 14.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

There are no changes to either model and the cars continue to get the same mechanicals and features. Prices have seen a prominent hike in 2021 given the rising cost of raw materials at large, while supply constraints related to the semiconductor shortage have also created roadblocks for automakers in terms of production.
