Volkswagen India Hikes Prices Of The Taigun And Tiguan; Updates Taigun With More Standard Features

- Volkswagen has updated the Taigun compact SUV with more features.
- The Volkswagen Tiguan doesn't get any feature update.
- Both models have received price hikes ranging between 2.5 % and 4 %.
Volkswagen India has announced an upward revision in prices of the Taigun compact SUV and Tiguan mid-size SUV. Prices of both SUVs have gone up by 2.5 per cent - 4 per cent depending on the variant, while the German carmaker has also updated the Volkswagen Taigun with more standard features. The Volkswagen Taigun now offers engine idle start / stop and tyre pressure deflation warning as standard across all variants. However, the company hasn't added any features on the Volkswagen Tiguan range in India.

Commenting on the announcement, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, "At Volkswagen, our priority is to offer our customers a comprehensive and value for money proposition. With these product enhancements on the made in the Volkswagen Taigun, it will offer our customers added comfort, improved fuel efficiency and a heightened drive experience."

Prices of the Volkswagen Tiguan mid-size SUV have also gone up.
Volkswagen India claims that the idle start / stop system has bettered the Taigun's fuel economy by up to 6 per cent on the 1.0-litre Dynamic Line variants. It now delivers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 19.20 kmpl on the manual variants and 17.23 kmpl on the automatic variants. In the Performance Line, Wild Cherry Red decor inserts will be available only on the Wild Cherry Red Exterior colour whereas other exterior colours will have the Armur Grey glossy decor inserts.
