- All Volkswagen cars in India now get ABS and airbags as standard
- The cars are available across all Volkswagen dealerships in India
Volkswagen Polo and Vento cars will now offer ABS (Antilock Braking System) and dual front Airbags as standard fitment across variants. While the updated models are already available at dealerships, the German carmaker officially announced the news earlier today. With the standardisation of these safety features in Polo and Vento, now every model in Volkswagen's India's line-up offers gets ABS and Airbag as standard fitment.
Commenting on this major step, Michael Mayer, the Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, "At Volkswagen, we believe that safety is not a luxury but a primary need in a car. The introduction of ABS with Dual airbags has come to further extend this bequest in India as well. We have always been committed towards our customers' safety and now with these standard fitments in the Polo and Vento, Indian customers will enjoy the Volkswagen 'Safe Driving Experience' across all our carlines."

Volkswagen also said that this step taken by the company displays its commitment towards to Indian market in offering cars with high safety standards. The company also said that the added safety feature of ABS and dual Airbags to the Polo and Vento will now set new benchmarks in safety by adopting global standards for all Volkswagen products in India.
Currently, Volkswagen has seven models in its Indian line-up - Polo, Ameo, Vento, Beetle, Jetta and Polo GTI. While the former three get ABS and Dual Airbag as standard fitment, the iconic Beetle comes with four airbags as part of the package. Volkswagen's executive sedan Jetta, on the other hand, offers six airbags as standard fitment and so does the newly launched Polo GTI performance hatchback.
As mentioned earlier, the cars with the new standard fitments are available across all Volkswagen dealerships in India and as of now, Volkswagen hasn't announced any revision in prices.
