Volkswagen Taigun To Be On Display In Select Cities Ahead Of Launch

- The Volkswagen Taigun will be launched in India next month.

The Volkswagen Taigun will soon join one of India's most burgeoning car segments - the compact SUV segment and the German carmaker began its production just earlier this month. Now Volkswagen will start accepting bookings for the Taigun on August 18 and has also announced that the car will be on display in select cities ahead of it launch. The carmaker took to Twitter to announce that the Volkswagen Taigun will be available for preview in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad ahead of its launch scheduled next month.

The cabin of the Taigun gets a virtual instrument cluster, a three-spoke steering wheel, and red ambient lighting.
In terms of looks, the Volkswagen Taigun is in line with the carmaker's latest design language, with sharp edges and bold character lines generous use of chrome, especially on the top-spec GT variant. It also comes with premium elements like LED headlights, LED daytime running lamps, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, conjoined LED taillight with sporty black elements, and beefy cladding with chrome inserts, and faux skid plates, giving it a very upmarket appeal. The cabin of the Taigun is finished with a dual-tone cabin with a black and grey interior, featuring a 10-inch touchscreen display, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a fully digital instrument cluster. VW also offers optional body-coloured dash panelling, along with other features like wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charger, electric sunroof and rear AC vents among others. On the safety front, the SUV comes with 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking camera, ABS, and six airbags among others.

The Volkswagen Taigun is offered with two turbo petrol engine options.
The Volkswagen Taigun is offered with two turbocharged petrol engine options - the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TSI motor and a 1.5-litre, four-litre TSI engine. The former is tuned to make 113 bhp and 175 Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed manual and an optional six-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TSI unit belts out 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, while paired with a six-speed manual and a seven-Speed DSG automatic transmission.
