Will Toyota C-HR Concept Based Compact SUV Come to India?
It's no secret that Toyota is working on a compact SUV that will be launched in different markets. The Japanese carmaker had unveiled a compact SUV concept - the C-HR - at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, and later announced to spawn a vehicle on that. Now a report published on CarSensor claims that the much-awaited vehicle will finally be rolled out by March 2016. In fact, the publication has also rendered a speculative image of the car which, however, looks more like a jagged up hatchback than a proper compact SUV. That said, the production-version of the car will surely look more SUVish than the rendering.

Coming to the C-HR concept, it measures 4400mm in length, 1785mm in width and 1560mm in height which makes it as spacious as Renault Duster and Hyundai ix25. Though Toyota India hasn't revealed any information on the compact SUV it plans to bring in here, rumour has it that it will be the Toyota Rush. But in my opinion, launching a product as outdated as the Rush might go against the manufacture specially when its rivals are working on more modern-looking products. And when the company is already developing a global compact SUV, launching it here makes more sense.

The Europe-bound model of the C-HR concept-based compact SUV might derive its power from a 1.2-litre, direction injection, turbocharged petrol mill. Though, if the company plans to launch it here, it has an option to use the existing 1.5-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel units that power the Etios.
