World EV Day 2022: Audi Completes Installing Over 100 Chargers Across 60 Cities In India

- All Audi dealerships get a 22 kW EV charger while some get a 50 kW fast charger
- Audi has also installed chargers at workshops & select SAVWIPL Group facilities
- Audi plans to add more EV chargers across the country going forward
German luxury carmaker Audi has completed the installation of over 100 chargers across over 60 cities in India. The company has installed the EV chargers at all Audi dealerships and workshop facilities, as well as select Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) Group brand dealerships. The company has also installed chargers at key strategic highways in the country. All Audi dealerships get a 22 kW charger, while 16 dealerships have been equipped with a 50 kW DC fast charger.

Audi retails several electric offerings right from the e-tron SUV to the performance-spec RS e-tron GT
Commenting on the announcement, Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, "We have a clear road map towards sustainable mobility and are committed to developing an EV ecosystem. We have successfully installed 100+ chargers across India and we will continue to increase this in the days, months and years forward to ensure ease of ownership for Audi e-tron and other EV owners. The future is electric and Audi India is ready for it."

Audi India is looking towards an electric offensive, in line with the brand's global EV strategy. The company's flagship line-up comprise EVs including the e-tron SUV, e-tron Sportback, e-tron GT, and the RS e-tron GT. The EV chargers emerge as a big boon for customers who get access to a larger network, allowing for a more peaceful ownership experience. On the sales front, Audi India grew by 49 per cent in the first half of the 2022 calendar year (January-June). At present, the company's electric range arrives as completely built units (CBU) but the automaker has been mulling locally assembling the model in the country.
