2014 Beijing Motorshow: Mercedes-Benz unveils the Concept Coupe SUV

Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the Concept Coupe SUV at Beijing Motor Show. We first told you about this when Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the board of management and head of Mercedes-Benz cars division announced the Concept Coupe SUV, during a meeting with the shareholders.
One look at it and you can't help but think that this is sure to be a BMW X6 competitor. Mercedes-Benz describes the Concept Coupe SUV as being "sensual as a coupe - visionary as an SUV."
Aggressive in stance, the Mercedes SUV has a very low roof as the concept has a height of just 1.75 meters. It comes fitted with 305/45 R22 tyres which give it that burly look. There are a lot of similarities to the way its body looks to the X6 and it comes painted in Alu Beam.
It gets the all-LED Multibeam headlamps along with a permanent 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6 twin turbocharged engine which churns out 330bhp and 480Nm torques. All this power is transferred to the wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission with torque convertor lock-up.
As far as suspension setup goes, the concept SUV gets a double wishbone front combined with a multi-link rear setup and benefits from an air suspension with selective damping and an Active Curve System as seen on the S-Class Coupe.
Mercedes-Benz has made it quite clear that the Concept Coupe SUV is only a study but we feel that we will get to see a production model soon.
