2014 Paris Motorshow: Lamborghini Asterion Hybrid Unveiled

Lamborghini has unveiled the Asterion LPI 910-4 concept at the 2014 Paris Motorshow. For those of you who are wondering what Asterion means, well, it is a mythical creature; a Minotaur. This infact makes us understand the philosophy behind the Asterion. A Minotaur is a creature from the Greek mythology which had the head of the bull and the body of a man, so it was a hybrid and yes that is exactly what the Asterion is; a hybrid.
Yes, it is the first time Lamborghini has made a plug-in hybrid but that does not mean it has any less power. The concept boasts of a 5.2-litre natural aspirated engine V10 which puts out 610bhpfrom the Huracan with three electric motors packing an extra 300bhp along with a seven-speed DSG. This hardware setup has created the most powerful Lamborghini ever capable of unleashing a mighty 910bhp.
All this power helps the Asterion concept do a 0-100km/h sprint in just 3 seconds and achieves a top speed of 320km/h. When it runs solely on electric power, the Asterion can attain a top speed of 125km/h and can run for 50km. Used as a hybrid, the Asterion has a combined fuel consumption of only 4.2 liters / 100 km.
In terms of design, the Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 concept adopts a sharp angular design wrapped around in a Blue Elektra glittered color. Inside, Lamborghini has implemented a minimalistic layout with two seats placed higher compared to usual Lamborghinis as a method to grant a more comfortable ride.
Well, you have to remember though that this is just a concept and nothing more than that, however, we can see that a hybrid can make its way out of the Lamborghini stable.
