2021 may not have been a year which had loads of cheer for the Indian auto industry. Pressure on sales, low market sentiment and production issues bore down on the two-wheeler segment. Nevertheless, in the scooter segment, 2021 was all about becoming bigger and more feature-oriented in the petrol scooter segment. It was also a year, where we finally reviewed the Chetak electric scooter from Bajaj, the only electric scooter on this list. Yes, there have been other launches in the EV space, but we'll have to reserve our review for the new year.

The Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid offers an attractive option in the 125 cc scooter segment. Its biggest strengths are its low kerb weight, and fuel efficiency.
