10 Best-Selling Cars in June 2016

- Maruti Suzuki sees considerable decline in year-on-year sales
- Hyundai Grand i10 outsells rival Maruti Suzuki Swift
- Toyota Innova Crysta retains its position in the top 10 list

As always, the top position in this list was acquired by Maruti Suzuki's top selling car, the Alto. With total sales accounting for 15,750 in the month of June 2016, the company saw a 25.4 per cent decline in sales compared to 21,115 units sold the same time last year. Same could be said for the first runner up, Swift Dzire, also from Maruti's stable, which saw a fall of nearly 29 per cent with total car sales accounting for 15,560 compared to 21,866 units sold in June 2015.

Till now we have mostly seen the top four spots taken by Maruti products, but this month Hyundai managed to break that record with the Grand i10 taking the third spot as the company registered 12,678 unit sales last month. It saw a growth of over 41 per cent compared to last year's 8,078 units during the same period. That said Maruti did manage to have at least three of its models in the top 5 list with the popular tall boy hatch WagonR, taking the fourth position. Total sales accounted for 11,962 units, with 9.5 per cent decline in sales compared to 13, 221 units being sold in June 2015.

The fifth spot was taken by crowd favourite Renault Kwid, which managed to account for 9,459 units being sold in June 2015. Right behind was Maruti's most popular compact hatch Swift with sales of 9,033 units to its name seeing 47.8 per cent drop in sales compared to last year's 17,313 units during the same period. Hyundai's premium hatchback i20 is the only Hyundai car to see any decline in sales in the top 10 list. The company registered a total sales of 8,990 units compared to 10,841 units being sold in June 2015, accounting for 17.1 per cent decline in sales.

The newest addition to the list is Toyota's newly launched Innova Crysta, which accounted for 8171 unit being sold in June 2016. Hyundai Creta replaces Mahindra's Bolero as the country's top selling SUV again at the ninth spot with 7700 units being sold last month. The tenth spot is taken by Maruti Suzuki again by its premium hatchback, the Baleno that accounted for 6,967 unit in the month of June 2016.
