Datsun GO Cross Might Come To India In 2017

- It was first showcased in India at the 2016 Auto Expo
- The GO Cross is based on the GO+ MPV
- It may be offered only with a 5- seat configuration
The Datsun GO Cross, might be launched in India in 2017. The company was overwhelmed by the response it got when the car was showcased in India at the 2016 Auto Expo and which is why the project has been fast tracked and we'll see the car here next year. The GO-Cross will initiate Datsun to the growing crossover segment and will also be its flagship model. In fact, from what we know, it'll be under 4 metres and we don't think that the car will see a seven seat configuration like on the GO+ MPV.
Based on the GO+, the GO Cross concept sports a distinctive front end with a hexagonal radiator grille, sweptback LED head-lamps, LED fog lamps, a brawny skid plate and plastic cladding. The Datsun GO Cross might not move far away from the concept which is why we think that the skid plate and plastic cladding will make its way into the car (considering we've seen it in the rest of the Crossovers)

Moving on to the cabin, the Datsun GO Cross concept featured a 5-seater configurations and we're pretty certain that it''ll be that way. What we'll see though is a big change in the feature list as also a new dashboard, which will make things interesting in this segment.

But it will borrow most elements from the GO+. The crossover will receive both, petrol and diesel engine options. While the 1.2-litre petrol unit is the same as the one that does duty on the GO hatchback and GO+ MPV, the 1.5-litre dCi diesel will be borrowed from the Nissan Micra.
Upon its launch in India, the Datsun GO Cross will compete with cars such as the Hyundai Active i20, Toyota Etios Cross, and the Fiat Avventura.
