2016 KTM RC 390 With Upgrades Goes on Sale in Europe

- The European RC 390 gets a side exhaust and is now Euro4 compliant
- Also new are the bigger brakes, RbW, adjusable levers and bigger mirrors
- Power output continues to remain the same on the 2016 RC 390
Exported to Europe from Bajaj Auto's Chakan based facility, the 2016 KTM RC 390 now features a larger 320 mm front disc brake (20mm bigger) for improved stopping power, whereas the underbelly exhaust has been replaced with the all-new side-mounted aluminium unit in order to comply with Euro 4 emission norms. Due to the new exhaust, the belly pan has been redesigned and slimmed down, which has helped the bike get a higher ground clearance. Lastly, the new side-mounted exhaust has also led to the bike maker redesigning the pillion foot pegs.

Power output remains the same on the 2016 RC 390
The other important update on the 2016 KTM RC 390 includes Ride by Wire (RbW) that helps offer seamless power delivery; while there is also the much-appreciated slipper clutch as part of the standard kit. Furthermore, the new RC 390 gets a 12mm thicker seat cushion for the pillion, so it's become more comfortable too. You now also get switchable ABS system, which is great news for bike aficionados. Other upgrades include adjustable brake and clutch levers, bigger rear view mirrors, and a revised fuel tank to avoid fuel evaporation.
The 2016 RC 390 continues to draw power from the same 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine that makes 43bhp and 35 Nm of torque. The motor comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The dry weight of 147 kg (Euro spec) remains unchanged too.

The India spec 2016 RC 390 misses out on the side mounted exhaust
Coming to the Indian version, the 2016 RC 390 went on sale in the country recently and does not get the same extensive upgrades as the Euro-spec model. As a result, you miss out on the side-mounted exhaust and RbW, since the model does not need to be Euro4 compliant in the country.
