2017 Hyundai Xcent Facelift Spotted Testing For The First Time

- Hyundai Xcent facelift will come with new styling and features
- The car will share its design and styling with the Grand i10 facelift
- The Xcent facelift will be launched later this year
It's been nearly three years since the launch of the Hyundai Xcent subcompact sedan and the car is long overdue for a mid-cycle update. While currently Hyundai India is gearing up for the launch of the 2017 Grand i10 facelift, it seems the carmaker has simultaneously started working on the Xcent facelift as well. This has been affirmed by a set of spy images that have recently surfaced online, revealing a partially camouflaged 2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift undergoing testing in Chennai.
Similar to the outgoing model, the 2017 Hyundai Xcent will share its design and styling with the Grand i10 hatchback. Now we have already told you about the key updates made to the latter, which means the Xcent facelift will also come with similar styling and updates. While the front section of the test mule is not visible in these images, the rest of the car features several design changes that confirms its identity.

Hyundai Xcent facelift rear
One of the most integral changes that are evidently noticed here includes the new taillamp cluster that has been redesigned now and is also a bit larger. The car also gets a slightly more sloping roofline and the C-Pillar has also been redesigned. The test mule also had a new set of hubcaps and slightly updated ORVMs. The face of the car will also feature similar updates and is likely to come with Hyundai's new Cascade design hexagonal grille. Other features that will be borrowed from the Grand i10 facelift include - new sportier bumper, LED daytime running light, new foglamps and redesigned front bonnet.

Hyundai Xcent facelift Side
While the interior is yet to be revealed, the cabin design is expected to remain largely unchanged apart for some minor tweaks and some new features. The infotainment system will also be updated and Hyundai might also offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Under the hood, the upcoming Hyundai Xcent facelift will continue to employ the same 1.2 litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that does duty in the outgoing model. On the other, the diesel version will come with a larger 1.2 litre three-cylinder oil burner that will be introduced with the Grand i10 facelift.
The facelifted Hyundai Xcent will be launched later this year probably after the launch of the Grand i10 facelift. Once launched it will be more equipped to compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze and Volkswagen Ameo among others.
