BMW 5 Series Wins Premium Car Of The Year Award

The new G30 generation BMW 5 Series has won the Premium Car Of The Year Award at the 2018 NDTV Car And Bike Awards. The new BMW 5 Series fended off stiff competition from the likes of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A5 Sportback and cabriolet, the Volvo V90 Cross Country and the Lexus ES 300h. The new BMW 5 Series impressed the jury panel with its modern tech features and balance in performance and luxury that the platform has always provided. The new BMW 5 Series in India ranges from Rs. 52.00- Rs. 63.80 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes with a range of petrol and diesel engines along with a top of the line M-Sport package option.

The new BMW 5 Series is larger than the last generation 5 Series- in fact, it is a large as the previous generation 7 Series, which means more space in the back for passengers. The new BMW 5 Series also packs in features such as gesture control that can be pre-set in according to the driver's preference and a smart touchscreen key that also has a remote parking feature (on top spec models). The new BMW 5 Series is also a lot more comfortable than ever before with a great blend of performance oriented handling and ride quality.

The new BMW 5 Series as we mentioned earlier, is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 2-litre turbocharged engine that packs in 248 bhp of peak power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The base model diesel 520d is also a 2-litre four cylinder diesel packing 188 bhp of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque while the range topping BMW 530d is a 3-litre 6-cylinder motor that makes 262 bhp and a massive 620 Nm of tyre shredding torque.
