2019 Mahindra Mojo UT300 ABS Spotted Testing

The Mahindra Mojo 300 is currently off the sales shelves as the motorcycle is yet to receive the now mandatory Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) system. However, that could change soon as the manufacturer is testing the ABS equipped Mojo 300 and the model was spotted recently, and seems almost ready to hit the showroom. The bike in question is the Mahindra Mojo UT300 that was introduced last year as the more affordable derivative of the Mojo XT300. It is likely that the UT300 will get the ABS version first, and will be followed up with the XT300 later in the year.

The Mahindra Mojo UT300 ABS remains identical to the current version barring subtle changes
The spy shots of the Mahindra Mojo UT300 ABS showcase a host of details that includes dual-channel ABS, single-side exhaust, Pirelli Angel CT tyres, telescopic front forks with fork brace for better handling, and ByBre sourced 320 mm front and 240 mm disc brakes. In contrast, the XT300 had brakes sourced from J.Juan. Other changes reportedly will include a bigger sprocket and higher position for the exhaust on the UT and the XT, and also a new black with white paint scheme.
Continuing from the current version, the Mahindra Mojo UT300 ABS gets the same design language, alloy wheels, twin headlamps, and a semi-digital console. Power is also likely to come from the same 294.72 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled carburetted motor tuned to produce 22.7 bhp and 24 Nm of peak torque. The Mojo XT300 uses a slightly altered version of the same motor with the 295 cc fuel-injected mill belting out 26.8 bhp and 30 Nm of peak torque. Both versions are paired with a 6-speed transmission.

The Mahindra Mojo UT300 and the XT300 will get dual-channel ABS with the launch expected soon
The addition of ABS will drive prices further up by about Rs. 15,000-20,000 on the Mahindra Mojo range that starts at Rs. 1.50 lakh for the UT300, going up to Rs. 1.80 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi) for the XT300. That said, the addition of the safety tech will help the model come back on sale, and will take on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 as well as the Bajaj Dominar 400.
