2019 Volvo S60 Sedan Spied Completely Undisguised

Earlier this week, Volvo boss Hakan Samuelsson shared a picture on his social media of the next generation S60 sedan in a camouflaged avatar while undergoing testing in Norway. Now, a Swedish website Teknikens Varld, posted a new image that reveals the rear end and partly the side profile of the upcoming S60 completely undisguised. In terms of design and styling, the S60 underpins the elder sibling S90, while the interiors are said to be inspired from the recently unveiled V60. Moreover, if you see closely, the S60 can be seen flanked by what looks like the new XC20 or XC40 electric vehicle, but that's a discussion for later.

The new Volvo S60 will be based on the company's Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) that also underpins the 90 series and the 60 series. The C-shaped LED taillights, wheel cap gets gloss black color with chrome treatment on the exhaust tip and windows trim. However, the front end of the car is not visible in the image. But the image that Samuelsson shared earlier this week, the front fascia and Thor's Hammer-styled LED DRLs remains the same. Inside, the Volvo S60 is said to get new soft touch materials and the typical Volvo touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, the Volvo S60 gets both petrol and diesel engines. While the 2.0-litre petrol engine will produce 156 bhp of max power, the diesel iteration will churn out 240 bhp of power. Reports also suggest that the new Volvo S60 will also get a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid variant at a later stage. Moreover, expect Volvo to come up with a Cross Country version as well.
