Highlights

  • The car will have likely 500 kms of range
  • It will have 582 bhp powertrain
  • The Audi Q6 e-Tron is expected to launch in 2023

Audi has been on a drive to electrify its entire line up and by 2030 wants to be a fully EV brand, as many automakers. Its e-Tron line of vehicles is already making waves and has even launched in emerging markets like India. Now, images of its 2023 Q6 e-Tron have leaked which showcases a design language that has been borrowed from the Q4 e-Tron - though the entire vehicle has been captured in a camouflage wrapping.

It retains the premium platform electric (PPE) architecture that has been co-designed with sister firm Porsche which is also part of the Volkswagen Group like Audi. This architecture will also underpin the Porsche Macan and from the looks of it promises a 500 km range with a single motor, rear-wheel-drive layout on the base configuration.

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup will be optional. The PPE platform will allow the Q6 to have an 800-volt electrical system that will be compatible with 350 kW fast-charging systems. Audi may also by the looks of it provide dual charging ports, on each fender. It will likely deploy 582 bhp, but the torque figures are rather unknown right now. There will likely be more options with different output levels and ranges.

Audi is likely going to start producing the Q6 e-Tron from the Ingolstadt assembly lines sometime next year and it will likely arrive in the US only by 2023. There will likely also be a Sportback variant which will also debut in 2023 - giving a sportier feel and driving dynamics to what seems to be a pretty boxy SUV. Overall, by 2025 Audi has an ambitious plan for launching 20 all-electric vehicles while its entire lineup will majorly feature hybrid cars that combine a traditional petrol-based powertrain with an electrical element.
