- Read the 5 car maintenance tips that are nothing but myths
It's time we bust a few car maintenance tips that workshops peddle as facts. Throughout the lifetime you've known cars, you might have also come across some care tips such as oil change every specific mile, and so on. However, you no longer need to engage in such rigorous car care.
Though these car care tips are not wrong, they ideally drain your money. If you've been duped for car servicing and maintenance, it's time you bust some myths with us! Here are five much-followed maintenance tips that have become the fable of the auto industry.

You Should Change Your Oil Every 3,000 Miles
Workshops convince car owners that without an oil change after 3000-4000 miles, the car mechanics could suffer from damages. Lube shops and companies continue to instill the idea in car owners.
The truth is that the use of synthetic oils with a better chemical composition only requires an oil change after 5000-7000 miles. The oils are improved enough to offer optimum performance for longer intervals.
Premium Fuel Will Enhance Your Car's Performance
Regular gasoline will work fine unless you own a car with a performance engine and high-compression that runs quite hot. Typically, only the expensive cars gain the most benefits from premium fuel.
An average-priced vehicle will gain adequate performance from regular gas. Premium fuels have higher octane gas that is well-suited for turbo-charged engines in supercars and high-end cars. Consider the manufacturer's suggestions for the choice of gas.

Servicing Your Vehicle at Independent Workshops Voids Warranty
Regardless of where you take your vehicle for maintenance and servicing, the warranty will hold validity until expiration. Dealerships preach so only because they want you to only spend on their service stations.
You should also know that it is not lawful for dealerships to imply such conditions. You can visit your nearest auto repair shop and retain the receipts to claim the warranty.
You Must Replace All Four Car Tires at the Same Time
This myth is one of the most common ones! You can replace individual tires as required. But, it is essential to replace the particular tire with the same brand, size, and model as the rest of the tires. We also suggest rotating the tires at every oil change to maximize their lifespan.
Also, it is not mandatory to buy new tires to replace punctured ones. If the puncture is larger-sized than a quarter-inch in diameter, the workshop can quickly fix the hole.
You Need to Warm Up Your Car's Engine in the Cold
Especially during winters, you might have seen your neighbors and friends doing this. But, your car's engine parts do not require warming to operate. The engines in modern vehicles warm faster while you are driving. Moreover, there is nothing better than movement to warm up the transmission and wheel bearings.
The best way to achieve performance and fuel mileage is through regular use. Letting the car sit idle in the driveway is a recipe for engine damage!
