5 Signs That Show That Your Car Needs Servicing

Cars are complicated machines that need to be maintained properly or they can depreciate fast. Each car has different servicing needs and different servicing periods. Hence, you might not remember that the time for getting your car serviced has arrived. This can cause problems as your car might break down or lose efficacy in some of its functions. That's why you should be vigilant when your car starts to show signs that it needs maintenance. Here are the signs you should look out for.

Warning lights
Modern cars come equipped with many functions, including warning lights that alert you if something is wrong with the car. A yellow-coloured light on your dashboard is called the ‘check engine light' that pops up when it's time to get your car serviced. This light indicates several problems (whether they occur simultaneously or individually) that make it necessary to get the issue checked.
Smoke or emissions
When a car's engine is too damaged and too much fluid waste and deterioration has occurred, it may start emitting smoke. Smoke coming out of the engine is very dangerous as it indicates that the engine is no longer safe to function. A car's silencers might also start emitting black smoke. This is different from regular emissions as they are more harmful and darker in colour. If you see any such emissions, immediately take your car for servicing.

Reduced riding comfort
A car that needs servicing will have many internal intricacies that need to be addressed. This is why even if your car is fully functional while driving you might not be getting the same feeling like when the car was new. Although, the initial comfort of the car is hard to get back, keeping it serviced ensures best possible performance and convenience for its age.
Noises
Any car that makes noises apart from its natural sounds needs servicing. You might have noticed other sounds coming from inside the car while driving or parking. Those indicate that some internal problem has occurred in the car's machinery. Be vigilant about such sounds and take your car for servicing when you hear them.

Sensitive gears
At times the car's gears might become very sensitive due to overuse. This happens when the gears need maintenance. Sensitive gears make cranking sounds at times. You might also start feeling like it is difficult to move the gears or they might be getting stuck often. This can make your driving experience difficult. You might also get stuck in traffic with sensitive gears which can cause problems.
Regular checks and servicing can help you maintain a healthy vehicle and prolong its lifespan. Regularly servicing your car also helps you get a great resale value. Contact your dealership to get offers for regular servicing and keep your car going strong.
