Apollo Tyres Appoints Vikram Garga As Group Head, Marketing For Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa

Apollo Tyres has announced the appointment of Vikram Garga as the new Group Head for Marketing for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Under his new role Garga will be responsible for all marketing and product strategies in the region and will spear head the individual marketing teams for each region. Garga will also be responsible for dealer programmes, brand positioning and monitoring the company’s performance in the region in conjunction with sales.
Satish Sharma, President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), Apollo Tyres said, “Vikram joins us in a senior leadership role for the region, and given his strong track record of providing strategic and operational leadership in FMCG and Automotive Industry, he would be a key asset for us going forward.”
Prior to his new position, Garga was previously the Vice President and Head of Strategy, Insight, Analytics and Innovation at Mahindra and Mahindra – Auto and Farm Equipment Business. Garga had joined Mahindra in late 2018 as Vice President and Head of Marketing for passenger vehicles and played a key role in the launch of the new Thar and the company’s new SUV strategy.
Garga has considerable experience in the field having also spent 11 years with Castrol where he rose through the ranks from General Manager, Marketing to Vice president, Sales – Industrial and Heavy Duty. He also had stints at Colgate-Palmolive and Johnson & Johnson.
Garga will be based out of Apollo Tyres’ corporate headquarters in Gurugram, India and will report to Sharma.
