Audi India Announces Charging Options For e-tron, e-tron Sportback Customers

- Customers of Audi e-tron, e-tron Sportback to get two chargers
- Select Audi dealerships to have a 50 kW DC fast charger
- EVs of other brands can charge at Audi dealerships by paying a fee
The Audi e-tron has been a long time coming for India. And it will be launched along with the Audi e-Tron Sportback on July 22, 2021. And like most EV manufacturers, Audi India has announced a slew of charging options for its electric SUVs once they go on sale in India. The company said that customers who buy the e-tron and the e-tron sportback in 2021, will receive two chargers as part of the purchase. One will be a 11 kW compact charger and the other will be an additional wall-box AC charger that can be set up as per the needs of the customer. Audi dealerships in India will be equipped with a 50 kW DC fast chargers as well, and these will be set up in a phased manner. Furthermore, early bird customers can avail of complimentary charging facilities at any Audi India dealership that is equipped with the charging facility through 2021.

We want to drive a generational shift towards EVs in India and these steps will go a long way in building the confidence of our customers and in turn, will further accelerate India's electric mobility story."

The 'myAudi Connect' app will have information on all the chargers available on the route that the customer is on. The information will be displayed under the 'chargers near me' section of the app. The app will let customers know about the location of the nearest compatible charger. The same feature will be available on the Audi India website as well.

The company has already begun taking pre-bookings for the two electric Audi SUVs for a token amount of Rs. 5 lakh and it will go up against other luxury electric SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQC and the Jaguar I-Pace in India.
