Auto Expo 2016: All-New Hyundai Tucson Unveiled

After giving the 2nd generation Tucson a miss, Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) has showcased the 3rd generation Tucson premium compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2016. The new Tucson bridges the gap between the Creta and Santa Fe in Hyundai's Indian SUV line-up. The car falls in line with the company's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 (FS2.0) design philosophy and look quite similar to its bigger sibling (Santa Fe).

The front end of the all-new Hyundai Tucson features the company's signature hexagonal grille, swept back LED head-lamps, and LED DRLs. The slick side profile with a tapering glass house gives the car a coupe-like look which is further accentuated by the prominent high shoulder line. In fact, the sporty elements of the cars design also include the sculpted wheel arches which are cantered forwards. Other attractive design bits include the rear skid plate and dual exhaust pipes. To highlight the Tucson's wide track, the horizontal, wrap-around tail-lamp units have been placed as close to the edges as possible.

The Hyundai Tucson's soft touch and visibly upmarket interiors come riddled with high-tech features both in terms of comfort and safety. The car features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with in-built sat-nav, Smart Parking Assist System (SPAS), electric tailgate, blind spot assistance, autonomous braking, heated seats and steering wheel, seat ventilation, power adjustable seats, heated reclining rear seats, and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS).

The car will be launched soon in CBU form and will cost between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 23 lakh and is likely to compete with the Honda CR-V and upcoming Nissan X-Trail.
