Auto Sales July 2022: Tata Motors Registers 57 Per Cent Growth In PV Business

Tata Motors registered an uptick of 57 per cent in July 2022 in its PV sales selling 47,505 units as compared to 30,185 units sold in the same month last year. The company witnesses 47 per cent in its conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicle sales at 43,483 units as against 29,581 units sold in the same month a year ago. The Indian automaker also witnessed multi-fold growth (566 per cent) in electric vehicle (EV) sales selling 4,022 units as compared to 604 units sold in the same month a year ago.
Coming to its commercial vehicle (CV) business, the company recorded an overall growth of 44 per cent selling 31,473 units as compared to 21,769 units sold a year ago. The company recorded a growth of 57 per cent in the MHCV segment selling 8,522 units as compared to 5,416 units sold in the same month a year ago. In the I&LCV segment, Tata Motors registered an uptick of 33 per cent selling 4,475 units as compared to 3,357 units sold a year ago. Its passenger carrier sales surged by 319 per cent selling 3,454 units as compared to 829 units sold a year ago. Sales of small commercial vehicles (SCV- cargo and pickup vans) too went up by 23 per cent selling 15,022 units as compared to 12,198 units sold a year ago.
Tata Motors also witnessed a growth of 31 per cent in its CV exports at 2,681 units as compared to 2,052 units exported in the same month a year ago. Overall (PV sales + CV sales), the company witnesses an uptick of 52 per cent selling 78,978 units in July 2022 as compared to 51,981 units sold in the same period a year ago.
