Bentley Bentayga Diesel Introduced; World Most Powerful Luxury Diesel SUV

- The new variant is the first diesel car in Bentley's history
- Bentayga diesel uses an all-new triple-charged, 4.0-litre, V8 engine
- The car's deliveries will begin in Europe by early 2017
Bentley has unveiled the diesel model of its first-ever SUV - Bentayga. The new variant in the carline is also the first diesel model in the the British luxury automaker's history. Named after the Roque Bentayga rock formation on Spain's Grand Canary Island, the Bentley Bentayga with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine, was recently launched in India earlier this year in April.
To be alternatively known as the world's fastest and most powerful luxury diesel SUV, the Bentayga diesel will employ the services of an all-new triple-charged, 4.0-litre, V8 engine. Paired to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, it develops 429bhp and 900Nm of torque. Interestingly, the peak torque is available from as early as 1,000 rpm. It can go from 0 to 100Km/h in 4.8 seconds and offers a top-speed of 270Km/h.

It must also be noted that the Bentayga diesel gives the lowest CO2 emissions of any Bentley.
While the Bentayga diesel largely retains its W12-powered stablemate's design, it also benefits from a several styling additions such as the V8 Diesel badge on the lower front door edge, a new Bentley 'twin-quad' exhaust tailpipe design, black matrix grille with chrome surround and central bar, etc.

The Bentayga diesel's list of provisions includes multi-mode air suspension, Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), multi-mode Traction Control (TCS), Hill Descent Control, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Park Assist, and Electronic Night Vision among others. It can be specified with Bentley Dynamic Ride - the world's first electric active roll control technology. For infotainment, the diesel SUV receives eight-inch touch screen infotainment system with navigation, 60GB hard drive, and a choice of up to 30 languages, Bentley Entertainment Tablet, and a choice of three different sound systems.

The Bentley Bentayga diesel model's deliveries will begin in Europe early 2017, followed by Russia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan over the rest of the year.
