BMW India has denied reports that the company is setting up manufacturing operations in Pune. The original reports stem from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visiting BMW’s headquarters in Germany.
The BMW Group India however has now come forward to deny any plans of expanding manufacturing operations into Punjab. In a statement, the company said, “BMW Group is firmly committed to its Indian operations with its manufacturing plant in Chennai, a parts warehouse in Pune, a training centre in Gurgaon NCR and a well-developed dealer network across major metropolitans of the country. BMW Group India has no plans for setting up additional manufacturing operations in Punjab.”
